Training is back On! Comp has start date confirmed
Senior Club training is back on now with regular Tuesday and Thursday slots, Comp starts Saturday 1st August. Juniors train from 17th June, with hopeful Comp start on Sunday 19th July.
Training will recommence Wednesday 17th of June for the U13's. If any others are interested come on down at 4.30pm. The U14's will be starting the following Wednesday.
At this stage till the 1st July there is no contact. So Tim Filan has some fitness and other non contact drills to use.
We will be adhering to all government restrictions and social distancing. This means that groups, including the coach, are limited to 20 people. We also have hand sanitiser.
At this stage we are hoping to have our first games on Sunday 19th July (last day of school holidays). Team nominations don't close till the 5th of July, so no draw has been done. The plan is to have either an 8 or 10 round comp that will finish up in the last weekend of September.
Training has returned to Tuesdays and Thursdays now that the competition has a start date of Saturday August 1st.
Team nominations close July 1st, so until that time we don't know how many teams will be competing in the revised draw. The proposal is to play 9 games of all 10 clubs nominate for 1st Grade, but no finals series, with the team with the best record declared the winners.
So that means 6 weeks of training before we hit play our first competitive match of 15s for 2028.
Training starts at 6.30, and in line with current restrictions, no contact training will occur. Tim Olsen and his fellow coaches have programs planned to have us in the best shape possible come that first game. To help us determine how many teams we can field, make sure you get training and register using the Rugby Xplorer app.
